We encourage you to be creative in decorating your parade entry. All persons participating in the parade must be appropriately attired. Entries are encouraged to incorporate the theme of the parade.
For safety reasons, throwing of candy, balloons, treats or any other items to the crowd by parade participants is not allowed. Participants walking along the street may hand candies, etc. directly to spectators. All handouts that are written material must be approved by the Parade Committee. A sample of each handout should be attached to the parade application form.
No livestock, equestrians, domestic animals, birds or reptiles are acceptable as entries or as parts of entries without prior written approval of the Parade Committee. Certificate of insurance is required for approved entries.
Alcoholic beverages and other controlled substances are forbidden on any float, in any vehicle or on the person of any participant. Participants who consume alcohol prior to parade start are not permitted to enter the line of march and people who use alcohol or other controlled substances during the parade are removed.
Smoking is not permitted on the parade route.
Parade entries must follow the directions of parade officials. Parade participants must maintain forward motion during the parade in a safe and cautious manner. There shall be no quick-starts, stops or peeling rubber. Parade spacing between entries must be maintained as directed by parade monitors (approximately 2 – 3 car lengths). Loud music or blowing of horns should not intrude on another participant’s presentation space. Participants must proceed past end of parade route before stopping or unloading.
The parade is a non-political event. Use of any political signs, social or political material or improper use of the American Flag is not permitted.
If you wish to have an announcement read by the parade announcers as you pass the review stand you may submit a very brief paragraph along with your parade entry form, including the name of the organization, the year formed, number of members, services provided and interesting facts. The Parade announcers reserve the right to edit the copy due to time constraints during the parade.
There is absolutely no stopping to perform in front of the announcers.
For the safety of spectators, organizations with a large truck or float entry must have adults walking alongside the entry.
The Parade Committee reserves the right to refuse entry to any group or individual whose entry is deemed to be a safety hazard.
